Had THE BEST dinner tonight! Omg!! Came here with a party of 7 for a birthday dinner. We got placed in a side room with 3 other tables. It was cozy and quiet and we had enough table space as well as space between tables. Our waiter was attentive and immediately starting to take care of us. He shared the specials and gave us time to look over the menu. This was my 3rd time at the restaurant and decided to do an entree over a burger, which I thoroughly enjoyed last time. I was going between a couple items but landed on the Guiness Braised Short Ribs. It came with Bleu cheese mashed potatoes, root veggies, stout gravy and French green beans, and IT.WAS.FABULOUS. So much flavor. The short ribs were fork tender. It was all cooked to perfection with nice chunks of Bleu cheese in the mashed. It was comfort on a plate that I didnt want to end. Three other people got pizzas which looked and smelled delicious. I did try a bite of one and the flavor was also very good with perfectly cooked crispy crust. Someone else got The Wease burger, cooked medium like asked, had big slices of crispy bacon and onions. Specialty cocktails ordered for the table were tasty with aesthetically pleasing presentation. Great brunch, wonderful service, and a fun atmosphere! We got the French toast, chicken and biscuits, and the fry-up and everything was wonderful! Our server was Alicia B and she was very kind and accommodating our whole meal. Additionally, the women’s bathroom was clean and had a lot of free toiletries available, including tampons! I did not see the men’s, so i cannot speak on that. We aren’t out this way often, but next time we are we will be back to visit this place! I would give 10 stars! Everyone working here is amazing, welcoming and most helpful. Our server Sam recommended delicious meals and customized drinks for us. Their veggie plate is enormous and yummy! The place is very cozy and unique, it gets busy so be prepared for some level of noise. Clean restrooms. We parked across at the small parking lot across the street. I have always loved the food and the area of this restaurant. It's a very art forward area of the city. This visit I went to the ladies restroom and was quite impressed by their attention to amenities offered. Sounds weird that the bathroom was what pushed me to review this restaurant online but here I am 🤣) they had Tampax tampons, mouth wash, hand lotion, teeth flossers, a nicer brand of soap and wrinkle release. I loved that they had a bulletin board to help promote locate business. Again, I wanna say the food is great and service is a 10 out of 10. But the thoughtfulness with their restroom amenities was the icing on the cake. Really good menu with excellent pizzas, Salads and lots of vegetarian options. The food is really good, and the pizza is woodFired. Cute little area to set out on the patio in the warmer months. My only complaint was I ordered the side of french fries, and it was extremely small for the price they charge which I believe was over $5.00. Doesnt make sense to be generous in everything else they do there and then be skimpy on the sides. Also, the acoustics in there make everybody's voice carry, so it is a very loud restaurant.If you're looking to have a quiet conversation with someone, it's not the place to go. But very cool vibe in there overall , cozy , rustic bistro feel and they added a nice sitting area to the front, So you have somewhere to wait instead of having to stand. I also love that they have a separate vegan menu now. So people can just look at that separately and not have to try to figure out what they can eat on the menu and certainly appreciate all of the vegan options! The Gate House has so many reviews that they don't really need this one but I cannot help but to let them know how much we enjoy our experience with them. Our family moved to the area this year and we have the pleasure of visiting with them frequently. The Gate House has been excellent for take out for us and more recently eat-in. We've LOVED their Wambach burger for take out, as it's perfection! It retains its flavor and is well packed. This past week we had the occasion to eat in and were given what we determined to be the best table in the house in a little alcove with a bench. Our server, Nichole M, was so genuinely friendly, funny, and interested in our food and beverage experience and very knowledgeable about both. She was very attentive, and on task. Our food ( The Golisano, The Duffy, the Ahi Tuna entree, and the Braised Short Ribs entree) were all fantastic, fresh and hot. We also had bruschetta and the pita with spinach dip appetizers and both were so good. We had planned to pick up food and take home this time and were so glad we opted to eat in. Such a great meal, a fun experience, and a festive way for us to end our weekend together. Thank you to Gate House and Nichole for such a great meal!
